_After nine months of recording their debut album "It's About Time", Garner is storming the Canadian music scene. In the spring of 2006 the Hamilton-based band realized that as they played together something special was happening. The melding of rock, folk and jazz influences of all three members sent them down a musical path they had never explored. They had to race to keep up with the new songs, the busy performance schedule and the abundance of opportunities. Garner committed to an intense writing and recording schedule and sought out professionals who could help them find their way.

They soon found themselves recording at the Canterbury Music Company, home to one of their major influences-the Barenaked Ladies. They were also fortunate enough to team up Marc Rogers, the Juno nominated producer and bassist for Norah Jones, The Philosopher Kings, Nelly Furtado, and Holly Cole.

Their music has become as diverse as the band itself. Garner touches everything from rock to R&B to jazz and the places in between. Matt McKenna's vocals infuse passion and energy into every song, while James Bloemendal textures each song with layers and layers of rich harmony and aching solos. The rhythm section keeps bodies moving with Matt McFarland laying down the groove. Garner has got their nose to the grindstone and they're not looking back. With a full length album in hand, another EP on the way and a touring schedule that has taken them from the Atlantic to Pacific Oceans, Garner has more opportunities than they ever dreamed, and they're really happy about it.
